it sounds like hes a pretty out-of-control guy who's used to getting his way. he was lucky the prosecutor in georgia was a fan given what was in the police report and the fact that there were witnesses. it isnt as if hes going to stop getting drunk, walking around with his deek out and messing with chix, he could easily end up like tyson

My understanding of the reason for not pursuing the case was that the prosecutor didn't feel he could win given the inconclusive results of the rape kit test that was performed shortly after the incident.

That's the story anyways, but if any one of us were in that position he'd have gone through with it, we wouldn't be rolling with the best lawyers money can buy and thus it would be much easier to prosecute.

Case in point, the R Kelly crap that went on forever, he's in the tape peeing on a child - not guilty.
 
Steelers and or the NFL will punish him. The Rooneys are PISSED at his behaviour. I don't know if he's guilty of anything but he's put himself in these positions 3 times now (including the no helmet motorcycle crash), time to grow up or GTFO.
 
He's obviously stupid and puts himself in dumb positions, but this is just a statement by someone -- we don't know if it's a fact or not. Given the guys track record, it seems likely to be true though.
 
After the situation with the first accusation of rape someone who was innocent wouldn't put themselves in position to have it happen again. Obviously this guy has some serious issues.

The Rooneys are no doubt actively looking to part ways with him.
 
Big Ben is an out-of-control buffoon and needs to be slapped hard by Goodell. I'm hoping that the Steelers are fed up and trade him to a terrible team like the Rams, but that likely won't happen.
 
These are still allegations, none of which have been proven. Further, those making the allegations have admitted to being extremely drunk, one of the main reasons why the prosecutor did not press charges.
 
Ok, Roethlisberger is obviously very immature and kinda stupid. However, I read the report posted on the smoking gun yesterday....I dunno. It sounds to me like it was a girl who was being equally immature and stupid, and later changed her mind and/or decided she wanted to try to sue him like the Nevada girl. The fact that she is voluntarily dropping the charges, and that they couldn't even find enough evidence to bother DNA testing him, seems suspect.

I'm not saying he isn't an idiot. And for all I know he could have done it. But it sounds to me like a drunk college girl acting like a drunk college girl, and her sorority sisters rallying around whatever story she's telling.
 
Deeko, perhaps that's true, but one thing did stand out in my mind that made it more likely that she's telling the truth. She victim didn't go to the police a day or two later after coming to regret some drunken escapade. She immediately went to the first cop she saw after the incident -- even though she was drunk. IMO she would not be thinking of publicity/payday/regret etc in her drunken state, so something bad must have happened.

Big Ben is an idiot. Shame for the steelers - between Santonio and now Ben their offense will be pretty much gutted.

Which makes the prosecutor a bit of an idiot, as you cannot provide legal consent to sex while drunk.
 
I would say that Roethlisberger is now a marked man. Nor is he per say off the hook for Prosecution in Georgia. The next DA that comes down the pike is still free to press charges and try to get a conviction. So his legal jeopardy remains until the statutes of limitations expires.

If the DA had gone to trial and he was acquitted by the jury, he would be off the hook for the alleged rape in Georgia. Since that has not happened he still dangles in the wind.
One more Roethlisberger screw up,and the DA may change his mind, and have a million reasons to justify the decision.
 
it looks like there is a third girl accusing him now. i feel sorry for him. with all these accusations its going to make it a lot harder for him to go out and have a good time without worrying about someone making false allegations now. plus hes going to be spending the next decade of his life in court rooms being sued by gloria allred

Maybe, he should act his age and not go to college bars to have sex with 20 year old girls in the women's bathroom while his off-duty police body guards are denying people from going in.

The man is an idiot based on his history, it will more than likely happen again.
 
How do we know that she didn't consent and isn't just looking for a big payout ala the Kobe Bryant case? It's not as though false accusation of rape has never happened before (actually, it's very common). Have people already forgotten about the Duke LaCrosse case?
