Yeah, probably at least 2 generations of Vietnamese have been stunted due to the "Vietnamese War".

Since genetically, their maternal lineage is very similar to the Southeastern Chinese,

more so than the Southeastern Chinese to the Northeastern Chinese.

And besides, their economy, has only just recently started to pick up, compared to China.

As another example, the current Average Stature in Hongkong is similar to the Japanese, except that

Hongkong females average stature is slightly taller than Japanese females average stature,

both population being relatively well-fed on the average compared to the current Vietnamese population

Going to UCI where asian women abound, I would say more often than not, the asian girls are not even close to spec with what men find "hot". However, there are, as in any race, some very hot girls on campus. Like dayum hot.

Personally, I like asian girls, but my mixed girlfriend(1/2 japanese, 1/2 russian) is far hotter than most of the asian women on campus.

About non-FOBs becoming chubby...I haven't really seen very many chubby Asians here. Maybe the obesity rate in Seattle is lower than the rest of the country or something.

stop by california someday. my high school was 60% asian (nearly 70% including eastern indian), ucla was over 50% asian as well.

my cousin who came here a year ago from hong kong for college has gained 30 pounds since being here (95-->125). it's really the culture of inactivity and gorging oneself that does it. just speaking from experience.
