Well I guess I must be living in a bizarro world compared to all the android haters in this thread. I've spent maybe $10 at most on all app purchases to date and my Droid does everything I need it to do and a whole bunch more I rarely use but consider useful.

I had a 3GS before my Droid. I like the selection of apps on both markets. I do think Apple has a lead in mobile gaming, but I mean really, mobile gaming is shit compared to gaming on any other platform. I really do not understand people who can sit with their phones and play games. Why gimp yourself?

I'm not gonna spoon feed you what apps are better. Do the research yourself.

Once again, you're going massively off-topic and are creating a X vs. Y battle in a thread about what may or may not be stopping developers from creating apps on Android.

It's not about what's 'better', stop arguing in every single post.

because im curious what do your magical overly expensive aps actually do?

ive spent like 15$ on aps and that's only to support the devs, they all could be gotten for free from the XDA forums. but im lazy and pulled them off the market.

Other then printing money and blowjobs there inst anything about the android aps i find lacking

Overly expensive? the ones that cost over $10, lesse.

LogMeIn, $30, I use it for work to remotly connect to clients PC's, which I make money from. Paid $30 for the app, probably made $1200 from using it. And continute to make money with it whenever I need to remotely connect to a PC and I'm not at home. Best $30 I ever spent. Android has a version coming out sometime soon, but I doubt it'll be any cheaper. Plus I use it with my Touch over WiFi so I don't even have to bother with data plans and shit.

BeatMaker which I use to make beats which I sell, paid $20, have made about $200 using it. And the app honestly competes with full blown PC programs that cost 10 times as much. If they had a Trial version of this and the program was $100 I would have bought it without a 2nd thought. $20's an absolute steal.

Just 2 examples, the rest weren't overly expensive, I mean I have close to 150 apps I've bought and the grand total was a hair over $500, seeing how 5 alone ran me $100 bucks, 140'ish apps for $400'ish isn't "expensive" I also have around 80 free apps. So you don't have to buy shit. And considering the quality of the app I definitely feel I got some outstanding deals. I have games I paid 99 cents for and have been playing off and on for 2 years. And I have apps I use on an almost daily basis like Convertbot, which cost me a whopping 99 cents.

yeah so I'm the one who's trolling/off topic/arguing.

Apparently its only trolling if it's anti android. Anything anti apple is the divine truth

Double standard at it's finest. *claps claps*

I didn't start the "what's better" maybe you should of read a little farther into the thread or read it more closely.

Just in case you didn't here was my first post.
Me personally, I prefer the 24hr refund policy. I'm more likely to purchase an app if I can try it. There's a reason why there are a lot of "lite" app versions on the iPhone.

He didn't say anything Anti-Apple.

Did you not start it? Oh, then it must be OK to be a trolling waste of space. All of your posts in GG&P are flamebait of one type or another. You love the iPhone, we get it. Marry it, and stop posting angry argumentative crap in GG&P. PLEASE.

So says the guy with an anti apple avatar. Everything I've said in this forum is true, you just don't like to hear it. I like Android but I prefer iOS, as far as I know that isn't a crime.

If you disagree with my points then that's fine. Have an open discussion instead of requiring me to cite every single piece of info.

You've got to use both. Shampoo cleans, conditioner keeps it nice.

:D

I freaking LOVE a good cell phone debate but it seriously gets old seeing the same thing over and over....

1. Someone brings up something Android related
2. Someone compares it to iPhone
3. Someone defends iPhone
4. Someone attacks the person/idea above (this varies slightly)
5. 100+ posts of back and forth of comparing stupid statistics, made up ideals, rumors, myths and opinions disguised as facts.
6. Someone posts a different thread about something different...and the cycle repeats.

Its nothing that the Mods are doing, its just a vicious cycle that this forum has sunk into.

It's definitely annoying but it really isn't anything new. Just think back to the old PC-Mac or PC-Linux debates of old (not that those don't still go on). Not to mention Vi and Emacs lol.

I just wish more folks would realize that while they are entitled to their opinion on which smartphone is the best, it really isn't necessary to try and convince everyone else that they are wrong and you are right.

Oh shoot...I forgot all about the good old Vi days.

And you're right. I respect the fact that other people don't want/like the same things I do. I might pick on them for it...but its just picking.

I'm to the point now where I just leave a thread if people are getting butt hurt. Its not worth the mental fatigue to try to keep up with them. I'd have better luck trying to convince my butter that it's margarine.

I use both shampoo and conditioner. I usually leave the conditioner in for a few min to keep it nice.

I use one of those all-in-one shampoos.

I hear the all in one shampoos aren't as good.

Anyway, I think developers are gonna go where the money is at. If Android can generate more revenue than the Apple App store, then I don't see why developers wouldn't migrate. IMO I think we'll just see a lot of ports between the two platforms.

FWIW, a job that I was applying for, they only made Apple apps, but they weren't going into Android development until Froyo became more mainstream. Their reasoning for that was they wanted to see if Flash would play any role in App development.

Of course they are going to go where the money is. But from this thread alone you can see that people are holding off from apps because they aren't viewed as the greatest. Its going to take a couple really great paid apps to get the ball rolling. With all these (millions?) of new Android subscribers, the base is there. They just need to get trained into paying for good apps.

Well, apparently another issue is that the App Store is available in all the countries that the iPhone is sold in, and the prices are (although usually pegged against the dollar I believe) available in those currencies. Also, my understanding is that it is fairly easy to change the localization via XCode.

App Market is only in what, like 13 of 46 countries? Google needs to improve that as well.

Not saying if either one is going to 'win' in the long run, but right now at least, I think that the App Store is more appealing to developers.

"There is no finish line"
/crappy sales manager saying

Another thing that your post made me realize is that dev's have to be from certain countries. There is an app that I really want a paid version of...maybe gtasks?...but the dev is from The Czech Republic and can only do business over paypal/email. Needless to say I didn't want any part of that.

I guess I don't understand what the heck is wrong with Google. They have the greatest search engine, are in every country known to man (and probably a couple they invented for tax shelters) but they can't use those things in their own market? Well I guess they didn't get it wrong, they just aren't doing nearly as much as they could.
