that you hate his fiance?

my instincts tell me to just keep my trap shut and look the other way, but it seems like the longer I know her, the more convinced I become that she's a crazy btch  especially now that she's basically living in our apartment rent-free (though I'm only giving that another week or two before either she starts chipping in for utilities or I start looking for a new place).

a few days ago, I was on the phone with my mom... as I'm prone to do, I dropped an F-bomb (well, several). no big deal, I mean my mom still curses worse than I do. but after I get off the phone, this broad chews me out, saying that the use of the word "fvck" is a complete and total endorsement of rape  she's also accused me of having no soul and endorsing slavery because I do not believe that animals possess souls and are thus, essentually property

I know I've got to stfu and look the other way and hope she manages to mellow out (though that's probably not likely considering her straight-edge beliefs on drugs/alcohol, lol)... guess I just needed to vent :)

I'd tell her to get the fvck out if she isn't paying rent. If straight-edge people want to adhere to a lifestyle then that's fine, but don't even attempt to impose that on others. That goes for religion, philosophical beliefs, or anything else that is a varied opinion. It is none of your business what I do unless it harms you.

Dude just be glad she's not YOUR fiance and start looking for a new place to live now... if you stay there your going to end up flipping out on her & very likely losing your friend.

I actually wrote her a long letter tonight, explaining the origins of the word "fvck" with citations from the oxford english dictionary :p

I don't know how she assossiated it with rape, but an internet chain letter is bound to be behind it. lol

Friends are unconditional they come with being engaged. You should express your disapproval to your friend.

Yes you should tell your best friend what you think of his fiance. As best friends, on a decision as important as marriage to another person, advice from a best friend can be very helpful. Sometimes love blinds and it is best to get views of people close to you such as family and friends who have your best interest at heart.

well, I don't really like my apartment in the first place ;) and if I had to pay 100% of the rent/utilities on my own, I'd be severly strapped for cash (re: goodbye going out with my friends, hello ramen/rice)

there's also a pretty good chance that I'll be transfering to a new office next fall, so I've been trying to hold out until the summer when I know whether it's definitely or not before looking for a new place. if I don't transfer, I could really just move into the apartment building across the street. haha. but if I do, I'd be looking for a new place ~50 miles away.

Starve some pigs for a week or two. I don't have to tell you what to do next.

I guess if you value the friendship, continue with holding your tongue and make other living arrangements? (or maybe politely suggest she chip in with rent or return to her own apartment)

While you might be his best friend, he's gonna follow that scent, not matter what you say or think. ;)

I would, but then my friends actually exercise pretty good judgement with who they date.

Absolutely. TELL HIM that you think she's a prick and is NOT the man for her. I know the type of woman you are talking about and I KNOW he will not be happy with her for more than 2 years.
