Someone you barely know is talking to you and you notice a large "object" dangling from their nose. Do you tell them?
 
You tell them. No question. I would want the same done to me. I HATE when people don't tell you something is outta whack... like a booger, or your fly is open and such. Thanks for letting me walk around half the day like that a-hole!

This, I encourage others to tell me when something is out of place.
 
Barely know? Probably not. Don't care if they embarrass themselves.

Someone I know well? (but not a friend) Hell no...I WANT them to walk around with a large booger hanging out of their nose...(then you tell everyone else to laugh at them!)

Someone who's a friend? Yes. Better they get a mild embarrassment from a friend than to meet someone like me...😀

By limiting the choices to reasonable answers I am able to actually get a feel for what people would do. Punching them in the nose is funny to say but I actually wanted to know what people would literally do - tell them or not.
 
I'd do the universal gesture for "you have shit on your face". If they don't get it than it's not my problem.

seriously. people ive worked with wouldnt tell me when i had something in my hair or on the back of my shirt or whatever. fuck them, what jerks.
