Just get a camera bag for it. Sling it over your shoulder (or across) and there you go.

I don't take mine with me everywhere, beacuse it's slightly large, but if I'm gonna go hang out with some friends I try to remember.

That's why I bought a nice small Casio Exilim. I use it for shots at the bar all the time. Very handy and EASILY fits in pocket.
