Well I don't have the cure for you since I'm also inflicted with this terrible terrible disease.

I went to Best Buy with my roommate only intending to buy Cast Away on DVD for $17.99, an hour later I walk out there with a total of 5 DVD movies spending $77.95

$17.99 Cast Away DVD
$14.99 Love Jones DVD
$16.99 Space Cowboys DVD
$12.99 Bruce Lee: Enter The Dragon DVD
$14.99 Bait
0% Oregon sales tax :p
==========
$77.95

I swear, if Best Buy had the Gameboy Advance available for sale a day early I would have bought it for $89.99 along with Super Mario Advance and F-Zero for $29.99 each. Phew thankfully they didn't.

Geez. I don't go to stores anymore unless I'm buying food. At the very least, if I have to spend money let it be on stuff that will keep me alive. :p

I do, but I also suffer from another disorder:

Broke.

Trying to fix both those, though.

Here's the great part, of the over 230 DVDs I own about 90% of them are STILL IN SHRINKWRAP I justify my DVD shopping addiction by calling it a "hobby" you know I "collect" DVDs :)

I have to admit, I have the problem, too :(
BUT....I try to do it cheaply. Got 5 DVDs at a pawn shop the other day for $50 (Untouchables, MI2, Shanghai Noon & 2 others). Had to pick me up a 28-210mm Vivitar zoom lens for my Minolta Maxxum, too. $75. Then Wally World hit me up for a couple new DVDs- King Kong vs Godzilla (gotta have it!) and Secret of NIMH. Picked up Red Dawn at Suncoast for $15 (thought that was a GREAT deal til I saw it at Wally's later for $10). The Rock found it's way into my possession....

And that's not mentioning the stoopid FS/Trade Forums here :| I wish ev'one'd just quit selling stuf that I want!!! I'm going to be poor soon if they don't stop.

I'm doing my own counseling and trying to limit my time on FS/T. Even cutting back on Hot Deals. It's a good thing I don't have a g'friend right now. I'd definitely be in the poor house!

hahaha RossMan!!!

All I got this week was the new Kubrick Collection (including the awesome newly mastered 2001 kami spoke of). However, at $100 for the set that was enough to spend this week (although it is nine DVDs so that comes out at just over $10 a pop!).

Haven't watched 2001 disc yet, but I did just finish "A Clockwork Orange" (probably my favorite Kubrick film) and the new transfer is excellent!!! Not to mention newly re-mastered 5.1 sound! I had hoped for anamorphic, but alas, it was too much to ask. Maybe in the third incarnation of the set they'll finally get around to re-mastering in anamorphic and adding some supplements.

Yeah, I went into walmart the other day to get some cleaning products. 20 minutes later, I walked out with cleaning products, 4 DVDs(Fight Club, Cadyshack, The Matrix, and Total Recall), and some gum(I don't even like gum).
Stopped on the way home at CompUSA needing a new game. Bought a box set game for $60 and a cable modem for $200???

I'm immune for bargains I don't need, luckily :D

It seems to me a pretty weird idea that you enter a shop, wanting to buy just a few things, but then you suddenly buy 'some' more things

Same here although I'd like to think when I upgrade from Win ME to W2K since it'll use RAM more efficiently this is less of an "impulse" buy for me. A few months ago I was thinking this is crazy 256MB RAM will never go lower than $89.24 per stick, boy was I wrong.

I went in to BB today to get 5 dollars back, since they had a 5 dollar discount on Superman and Superman II dvd this week, and I bought em both last week.

I simply went there to get 5 bucks, I walked out 45 bucks lighter because I bought Cast Away, O Brother where out thou, and the 2001 rerelease that's anamorphic.
