Canker sores have multiple causes.

Eating more than a few cashews guarantees I'll get 'em. I changed my diet a bit and haven't had cankers for a few years. I also got a smallpox vaccine about 2 years ago that seems to have helped a lot.

As said earlier, take Lysine, avoid sodium lauryl sulfate, try to manage stress, watch your diet for triggers, and try to get a regular sleep pattern.

The worst case was 2-3 of 'em right in the back of my throat where I swollow. I was up for 3 days straight from the pain - I'd nod off for a few minutes with my mouth open, then the SOB's would dry up and hurt even more as I tried to swollow. I eventually talked a sympathetic doctor to give my some codeine cough syrup and I drugged myself for another two days until they went away.

Listerine mouthwash + change of diet = cure

I used to get them a lot when I accidentally bit my cheeks. But after using Listerine nightly, I do not get them anymore. I think this is a good remedy.

I used to get 'em more frequently as a kid, but just every now & then........(I'd say maybe one or two a year now).

I've never tried this but somebody once told me...........

Battery acid in a dropper, cauterized with a soldering iron supposedly takes care of the problem.

:D:p;)

Nope. I do bite the inside of my cheek accidentally fairly often and that hurts like a mofo!

you might be having an alergic reaction with your toothpaste. Try sensydine or the like.

Maybe you are deficient in zinc? Take a multimineral supplement? I've never had anything like that, since I improved my diet and began taking a multi

Just switching from "gel" toothpaste to normal "paste" toothpaste pretty much cleared them up for me.

you may have recurrent apthous stomatitis RAS...there are some good sites for it. I know they are horrible and painful...watch your stress levels, diet and any kind of mechanical injuries if you are proned to it
