I've never paid for an online subscription to a web site but I have bought bandwidth on a newsgroup host for downloading binaries. Specifically Astraweb.
 
Nope, never. Not these days. I only use advertisment supported web sites.

I do have one free subscription though ($300/year?) because I am a mod on a forum for the associated site.
 
I did in the past but almost all of them felt like a community of tight-knit friends against any new member no matter the topic. Alienating new paying members is not a smart thing to do.
 
I stopped subscribing to usenet awhile ago, just wasn't using it, what with nearly every show that I watch being streamed on the internet.

I pay for webhosting, though I really need to stop someday (I have a free dedicated server thanks to my job)

does netflix count?
