I do the same thing sometimes. Reading research papers, etc. on a screen just feels wrong to me. Plus it's convenient to annotate using a pen/pencil.

I bought a laser printer during university for that reason. I printed out the research papers. Sure, I'd printer thousands of papers ever semester, but it was much easier to digest than reading on a screen. I liked to be able to annotate a pen and it was invaluable to be able to quickly flip around pages.

The downside is that I would often carry around a few inches worth of papers when I could've just had pdf files on my computer.

Car and Driver, Consumer Reports. I spend too much time on the internet, its healthy to get away from it now and again and actually read something real.
