Do you subscribe to a newspaper?

Do you subscribe to a newspaper? I was watching TV and there was a show about how newspaper is changing, going online, less subscribers, but still going pretty strong.

If you get one, which do you get? Local or nationwide?

Yep-- Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Rarely read it, but it's cheap, and the Sunday paper always has pretty decent coupons.

The only papers to subscribe to here are the Argas and the Oregonian -both of which are so terrifically liberal that I can't stand reading them. We have no conservative newspapers here, which is awesome. Considering the area, I'm not surprised. The Portland Tribune is a paper that I read occasionally. It's significantly better than the previous two and doesn't cost a dime. 🙂

I do read cnn.com and news.bbc.co.uk daily though.

I read several newspapers online, but don't buy any.

it's one thing to casually read an article on my screen at work, but I can't really whip out the NYT and flip through it on the job.

The problem I have is that the local newspaper SUCKS for local stories. With the exception of literally 2-5 local stories everything else they have is syndicated crap.

The national newspapers I would subscribe to are flat out not available same day (some are 2 day), so I don't feel like waiting for those.

Yep. Nothing like reading the paper over weekend breakfast. First thing on saturday and sunday is pull out the sports section and flip to what's on today.

Go Steelers

I occasionally buy a single issue if something catches my eye or I want some reading material if I know I'm going to be bored somewhere for a while, but I don't subscribe to any.

I subscribed to the SF Chronicle before. My roommates laughed that I still read the analog news. After the subscription ran out, they continued to deliver for months afterward then tried to auto bill me for the extra months. One phone call settled that bill, but I still get spammed on my cell phone by some newspaper telemarketer that will just call and hang up.

Yep, local. But only so my wife can peruse the sale papers in the Saturday edition and clip coupons that she will never use 😉

I subscribe to a local paper... but just get the weekend subscription for the coupons and a listing of local entertainment. All the news is old by the time I read it so it is worthless.
