I still wear one on my hat and on my car. I will do so as long as there are unrecovered bodies at the WTC and as long as there are service men fighting on foreign soil.
Well, my AT icon isn't going to change in the foreseeable future, and I'm not going to take down the printed flag I have on my dorm room door unless someone defaces it (in which case another goes up). I don't have a real flag though. I suppose I really couldn't use a real flag here in the dorms though.
In the last two weeks I've seen 5 flags being flown incorrectly. I have great respect for what the flag stands for. I do wish people would at least display it correctly. After the tragedy, the city I live in hung flags all over the place, many are now torn, tattered and falling down. It's unfortunate that many see the flag as an ornament to show patriotism rather than a living symbol of our country.
I have never worn a flag since it is not a fashion accessory. I do not fly one because with my current job I can not follow the basic rules of flying it.
