No, the shocks are quite small and after seeing my dad plug PCI cards in like they're plug and play, and get shocked by lightning (seperate occasions), I don't think these shocks bother me.

That was a big worry back in the 80's before HDDs were prevalent. Not much need to worry about magnets these days since no one really uses floppies anymore. It's generaly safe these days to use a magnetized screw driver inside of a modern PC.
