Do you still think that Ohno was a victim in 1000m final?

Read this and watch the fifth clip.

This is done by a Scotch short track club member, and don't assume he's biased and ignorant. He is a club skater who has been skating years unlike most of us who watch short track game once four years. Actually he favors Americans.

<< I really wanted Ohno to win the 1000m >>

I think the real victim was the Korean guy.
How do you think?

i dont know, but i read an article how south koreans are calling this a scandal, and that the americans just want to get more medals so that they can get their pride back after the 9/11 attack.

His "play by play" description is a farce. I've watched the "big crash" videos from every angle.

He claims:

<< Ohno moves from a tight line coming out the bend on to the straight and moves way out on his right skate to cross track Li who is coming up faster and wide outside him on the backstraight, thus leaving Li no option but to skate into him
(This IS a crosstracking DQ EVEN THOUGH OHNO IS THE LEAD SKATER he could still have gotten a DQ for this blatant cross track) THIS IS WHAT KIM GETS THE DQ FOR IN THE 1500m- And he was skating his natural track!!!!
Li takes an extra step out to try to avoid Ohno's VERY BLATANTLY extended right leg at the end of the straight.
Ohno then grabs Li's arm going into the bend (you see Li pull his left arm back out the way to stop it being grabbed, Ohno then pulls his own right arm violently up and forward to recover after missing the grab.
Then Li tries to go past wide into the corner leaning in on Ohno, Ohno skates wider still to keep Li at bay. If Ohno had not cross tracked Li WOULD have passed him outside.
Ohno, instead of hammering it hard onto the blocks, keeps pushing Li out and leaves a HUGE gap on the inside track.

Um, no. Ohno was PASSING Li at a very fast clip, not "Li who is coming up faster".

Ohno's arm almost collides with Li, so Ohno raises HIS arm up and over Li. This is OBVIOUS when watching the video.

I stopped here, and didn't even read the rest. If he's this full of sh1t at this point, why go any further?

once again, who was the boxer that the koreans screwed out of a gold medal? they should shut their hole

not to mention ohno was dq'ed from that other race

<< Don't you think we need to know the truth? 🙂 >>

I think people involved in the race need to know...and I wouldn't hold it against you if you felt you needed to know...

Me, I couldn't care less anymore...

<< I saw it on TV and cared about it for like, 10 minutes... >>

b0mbrman, your attention span is quite impressive, mines closer to a goldfish 🙁

The Truth Is Out There 😀

Twist it any way you want to, the Korean guy was no doubt cross-tracking and the rules for that infringement are clear. Ohno won fare and square.

Wrong race. You're talking about the 1500m.

To answer the question: a victim? Nope. Do I think he caused it? Nope. Do I think he cheated? Nope. The accident appears to be exactly that, and I think the results are just fine. S. Korea, et. al, need to quit their bitching.

It takes an honest man to admit this...

Oops. I guess I should have looked at the site before I posted, but to answer the original question about the 1000m final, I think Ohno was robbed, not the Korean.

Well that site takes a bunch of still shots and a very short clip and turns it into a halfway believable case for the Korean. If you see th WHOLE video slowed down you can see the real picture.

who cares? let's move on.
Since US hosts this Olympic, they can have some advantages/favors over other countries.

The judge disqualified the South Korean. The action held up under appeal. What do you need, a vision from the almighty Lord to tell you they're right?

Nationalistic pride should not stand in front of the blatant truth when there's so much evidence.

The only ones who think there's still an argument is the South Koreans. Let it go. Next time, practice for another event to, like Curling. That way, all your eggs aren't in one basket.

It was Roy Jones Jr.

Short track skating is like that, there's contact and people fall. From watching it that night, I made my own observations, and after several replays I still think the Korean interfered with him and should have been disqualified.

Who cares? Nothing's going to change. Move on with your life.

Obviously you cared enough to post in this thread. At least ub4me was posting to invoke a discussion. You seem to be posting just ot be a dumbass.

I think you are talking about the wrong race. This is the 1000m not the 1500 which I believe you are refering to. Li in this race is the Chinese skater not the Korean. And if you would watch the video you can see that Li was indeed coming up fast behind Ohno. I'm not gonna try to say who's at fault. I'm just saying it the way I see it.

Good point.
The Olympics the year were almost so scandal ridden this year as to ruin any hope pf anyone caring about them in the future.
They need to clean up the refs and the athletes.
