Do you still own a VCR?

Do you own a VCR? Well, do ya... punk?

  • Yes, I love rewinding tapes and the quality is good enough.

  • Hell no... it is a worthless appliance.

  • I don't watch movies, too busy riding literbikes.

I threw out my last VCR 10 years ago. I still have some VHS tapes in a box in the garage but I really need to toss those too.

Good Lord no. My wife tried to bring one with us when we moved last year; I pitched that shit straight in the trash. If something is only available on VHS, it's not worth owning.

My wedding video is on VHS but we haven't watched it in decades and we don't even have a means to watch it anymore. I should have it converted over to digital media one of these days.

Yes, but not hooked up. I can't remember how long it's been since I've watched a VHS tape. The whole idea seems ancient and yet it really wasn't all that long ago.

Are you honestly going to go back and watch your wedding video? That's something you do when all your children have moved out of the house and you're black-out drunk on "homemade absinthe" (blackberry Manischewitz and grain alcohol) trying to convince your wife that kidnapping the neighbor's newborn doesn't fulfill a Biblical prophecy.

Same here. I have one, and have some tapes but all is in storage. Heck even DVD's are passe now with all the streaming opportunities.

I have at least one that works. It's not hooked up to anything, I just don't want to toss it because the moment I do I'm going to find an important VHS tape and have nothing to view it on.

Yes, but it's sitting unused in a closet. We still have a few home movies on VHS... as soon as I either decide that I don't care about them, or actually get them converted to digital, the VCR will get tossed.

Well guess it is probably worth considering you ignorant in how you care about all the old documentaries that are only on VHS and might get lost in time if they are not uploaded to any digital libraries.

A few years ago, we donated the VHS tapes to the local Goodwill.

Two boxes - one were Disney collectibles.
We had purchased a VHS/DVD burner combo; so the tapes were archived

I don't own one. But in my house right now I do have a combo VCR/DVD player/burner that I borrowed from my parents to copy my wedding video from VHS to DVD. Once I get around to doing that it's going back to them though because it's a behemoth.

Most of those someone else already put on Youtube.

Seriously every VHS that I have that never went to DVD is on Youtube. Some are even PAL versions with better quality.

Yep. Still have two in a cabinet. Not plugged in.

I remember when we had to kept buying them once a year because the pieces of shit kept eating the tables.

Remember some amazing documentary I used to watch as a kid on the Great Barrier Reef and have no idea what the name of the documentary was so still waiting to find out if I can watch it again sometime.
