Do you still open doors for females?

I was just thinking... these days it's hard to do something like this for women. Normally I try to open doors to buildings and stuff if I'm with a female, but if I drive somewhere it just seems weird to go around and open her car door.

Anyone open the car door of your girlfriend? What if she's just a regular friend that you're just hanging out with and you're driving... does it seem if you open the car door for her like you're trying to be more than friends? I think opening building doors is fine and polite, but still don't know about the car door thing.

Need opinions! :)

Heh, yeah. It's just odd sometimes when you're going to the car and she's almost already in the car before you get there... do you go up and be like 'here let me get the door for you.' :)

I always have and always will. For a time during the whole women's lib thing some women would get downright angry at me when I opened a door for them. They would scoff at me and inform me that they were capable of doing it themselves. For those women I would politely smile and say "fine bitch, have it your way", and slam the door in their face.

That sounds about right, it happened to me once and so I said fvck it and I don't do it any more. If someone is behind me, man or woman I will hold the door for them, though.

I've never opened a door for any woman. Then again I still fart in front of complete strangers.

The girl i'm dating now WILL NOT go in or get out of the car unless I open it. i kid You not!

I don't mind at all. I actually like to do it so I can hold her hand and help her out of my SUV. She's short, and she has to use the OH SH!T bar to get in and out.

This one time, I got out and forgot to open her side. She never came out. Our common friends just stood there with confused looks as to why she wasn't getting out. I also open all other doors for her except the toilet.

in return i make sure she does all the things that women are supposed to according to her ;)
when she doesn't i can just bring up the stuf that she expects me to do.

I really wonder sometimes though whether she wants guys to open doors just 'cause she's old fashioned or if she THINKS that's what guys are supposed to do.

Either way, it's romantic to open doors for girls.

Kill me.

Wow, i've never had any girl/woman scoff at me or was insulted that i opened the door for them. Maybe people are just more polite up here in Canada.

Right. Car doors are a little different though, because you actually have to go out of your way to open the door (ie, walk around to the other side). Building doors you're on the path to the same place. Maybe it's just my weird thinking.

I like crt1530's thinking.

What I do is that if I'm about to enter a door and there's a girl behind me, I at least hold the door open for her as I go in, and if she's hot, I hold the door for her and let her go in before me

Well i haven't opened car doors for them to get out... just for them to get in. I really don't think women nowadays expect you to open the car for them to get out, unless they're wearing something awkward and don't want to ruin themselves on the way out (ie they need your hand to get out).

I hold the door if there's someone behind me, male or female. Just common courtesy.

I think you are confusing romantic with pussywhipped........since she demands you open the door or she will not enter/exit it is PW.

I will open the car door for her to get in, but my date can certainly exit the car under her own power. I believe in chivalry, not in being a chauffeur.

Exactly. It has nothing to do with gender, it's just about being nice to people.

doors and car doors....just habit I guess, the passenger door is not a big deal with keyless entry. It's what about 10' of extra walking? The only time I don't is when there just isn't enough room for two people on the side of the car.

If the woman gets all prima donna like I will leave them in the parking lot.

HAHAHA
If any woman said that to me I would laugh myself into a coughing fit.
