We have one in the engine room that is generator powered...by hand. You crank it hard for about 10 seconds and talk.

Cheers!

I have two on the floor next to my workstation's chair.

One is pulse dial (And it's my primary usage phone, too, just more comfortable)
The other is tone, and can go die.

Yep, one corded phone and two cordless phones (plus wife has a cell phone). During power outages I've had neighbors (people I don't know) come by begging to use a phone since their cordless phones don't work.

At home we have an immitation antique rotary phone. One of those wooden wall hanging ones that has the little organizer drawer in it.

My roommate has a cord phone. My other one has a wireless. I don't have a landline phone at all.

And by corded...I mean there's actually a cord between the handset and the receiver. Cordless phones that are still attached to a landline don't count as "corded". They are actually worse than cell phones because if you loose power they are totally useless. Whereas a cell phone is only useless after the battery dies.

Not if you have an AC invertor in your car!!

We have one in our kitchen... only reason we have it is because if the power ever goes out our wireless phones do not work.

punching your ATM PIN into a cordless when accessing your account over the phone would be pretty stupid. we have multiple corded phones.
