Do you still find some old TV episodes scary?

I'm talking about programs that you saw during your childhood or teenage years and that still scare you.

I just rewatched the Space 1999 episode Dragon's Domain, the one where the laserproof tentacled monster eats two beautiful women and a couple of dudes and spits out burnt mummies. That thing and what it does still creep me out. It's truly the stuff of nightmares.

I bet I'd still be scared by some of the old Outer Limits episodes I saw as a child during the 60s. Even the Lost In Space episodes featuring the black aliens with the hats, who sway from side to side as they walk, are still unsettling to me.

I bet some of you remember the vampire kid tapping on the window in Salem's Lot.

The Twilight Zone where the monster is on the plane wing. Also, the one where that kid can control crap with his mind and bend reality. When he made the Tasmanian devil come to life in some freaky way I didn't sleep that night.

Exactly what I was going to say, the remake in the Twilight Zone movie with John Lithgow was even better.

Meh, I prefer Shatner's performance over Lithgow.

The scariest shows/movies are the ones that create a physchological fear. They Live is a good example.

A select few of the unsolved mysteries episodes scared me... mainly the one about spontaneous combustion and I think one about aliens.

Is that the one where the missing woman's car was found torched in the woods but there was no evidence of arson or anything and they concluded it was spontaneous combustion but there was no body and nobody knew where she was? That was in my county, and I remember being scared by it as a kid.

I think some of the old Twlight Zone eps still get me going. I love those 24 hour Twlight Zone marathons that pop up every so often.

I think so, I just vividly remember that one of them was a lady that combusted in her rocking chair, and all that was left was her charred feet.

I remember going to Universal Studios Hollywood in the early '80s when I was about 9 and seeing that thing in a case. I thought it looked funny, they had a kitchen knife taped to its hand. Never saw the movie, I guess it loses its impact when you don't see it move.

Trilogy of Terror

Night of the living dead was on TV, that scared the hell out of me.

And if anybody slse is my age, from the bay area, good old Creature Features on channel 2.

The only old TV episodes that scare me are the ones I saw when I was growing up. They have finally replaced all the B&W classic episodes on Nick@Nite. THAT is what scares me. I'm getting old. 🙁

I recind that answer. There was a show about something like bigfoot terrorizing some teens in a camper. That was the scariest thing I have ever seen, and still think about it.

I'd say ball lighting scares me more, because nothing can stop it. it will torch holes through any material it passes through, can move in all directions, and is completely unpredictable.

...or so they say

a little research shows that all of the so-called SHC examples have been explained. Too often a lot of BS gets spewed by people about these cases and the actual explanation gets lost in the pile.

I can point you to some articles about this topic.
