when the ass raping bastards will buy them back from me.

I was limited to one book store (out of two) because I was thrown out of one for expressing how i feel about their "policies" of buying books back for 10% of what i paid, or not buying back books at all, even though it is going to be used the next semester.

I sell back the ones I don't need anymore (history, etc.). I've kept all my calculus books and I'm planning on keeping all my mechanical engineering books.

I used to sell my books. But now I keep them. They look cool in my bookcase at work and four or five times a year I actually use them.

How much do you guys usually get back? I notice that math/engineering/science books you get roughly 40-50% back from my bookstore, english/soc/phsyc its usually less than 10%.

I think we get 50% if they're using the book the next semester. Otherwise, almost nothing.

I keep all my EE books sell everything else. I always feel like I spent a week in prison after I leave the bookstore though.
Nothing like getting 10 bucks for a 60 dollar history book or my favorite is when they don't buy the history books back because they are getting an updated version of ancient history book.

the lines to return it to the book store is HUGE and the % back is like 10-20... SCREW THAT. not worth the wait on line

I usually list the books i have and post it all over school usually 1/2 the price of what you buy it from the school bookstore... and hope new editions don't come out.

only the ones not of my major.

I like to have my major textbooks for refrence for future assignments and projects.

I had to buy two new books for a politics class that were about $80 each. Then they wouldn't buy them back because they wouldn't need them the next semester! I wish I would have kept more of my books, especially the non-textbook books that I needed for philosophy and history classes. Oh well...I spent the money on expensive liquor and the sticky icky for an end of the semester bash.

Half.com and amazon tend to be much much better than the college bookstore for selling back books. They also rock for buying them - I save about 50% off the bookstore's outrageous prices by using half, amazon, and addall.com
