Do you see flashes?

isn't seeing flashes of light what happens when your retina detaches? although i have no idea why that would only happen when you're at your computer.
like everyone else said, go see an eye doctor, and you should probably have someone else take you. the doctor might use drops to dilate your pupils. they take about an hour to wear off so for that time period you'll be really sensitive to light and shouldn't be driving yourself around.

Yes, it can be the sign of a detached retina. A few years back I was seeing those flashes too and went to an opthamologist (sp??) and luckily nothing was wrong. I still see the flashes once in a while, but I've been back once or twice since so I know nothing is up. Sometimes if I cough really hard, it looks like fireworks in my vision. It's really weird. 😕

That's kind of like the whole "seeing star" thing. If you cough or sneeze really hard it knocks you around inside like if you were knocked in the head. That's nothing to worry about, but if you're seeing flashes of light during normal activity that can be serious.
 
oh jeeze, not to good. detached retina doesnt sound to pleasing, i also get dark vision where everything goes fuzzy and dark, then i have to switch out of it by shaking my head.

I get them during normal activity too. But I have gone to the doc to get it checked and he said that everything was fine.

GaryShandling - Don't take our comments on retinal detachment as gospel. We obviously aren't doctors. We're talking from what we've heard or experienced. You need to see a doc if it's that bad. The blurriness or darkness that you're describing (because you said that you shake your head to better the situation...) also sounds like "floaters" which I also have. 🙂

No, its not floaters, floaters dont make your vision do dark and darker untill your percieving through near pitch black. and with the darkness comes fuzzy red dots, and the colour around me goes all distorted, its screwed
