Eff google... any time you search anything, the first 36 pages are paid ads anyways...

Most things all i want are a ballpark half assed answer anyways... if someone here doesnt know the answer, i can always count on some know-it-all to make something up.

I mostly post movie/music related threads. When I do, I am looking for a discussion or specific suggestions. Google would help (hell, Last.Fm or IMDb would work) but these things can always use some commentary.

I usually add something to my query so google would not be an option. for instance, one thread I posted I wanted to know where to buy a trebuchet. I posted that I needed to buy one before 10AM the next morning, this forced people to actually think about an answer, rather than direct me to google, since shipping was "not an option"

of course, shipping was an option, and I didn't really need the trebuchet the next morning. I just didn't want to search google for a half hour, when instead I was able to watch Pokemon and make out with my midget/moustached girlfriend for a half hour, come back, and all my answers were right there for me.

afterwards, I rubbed myself in cocoa butter, read the answers, placed the order for the trebuchet, and all was well.

plus, some threads deserve to be started for the ensuing commentary alone, which can contain much comedic value.

so, in conclusion, no google necessary. I prefer to be spoonfed. I also like ATOT'ers to change my diaper and give me sponge baths. goo goo ga ga?
