Do you RTFM???

Hardly ever. I have a very schematic-compatible thought process which usually deduces what the steps are and all of that pretty well. Unless it's something extremely complex, and the order or processes is CRUCIAL (meaning, you're screwed if you mess up). Other than that, manuals are for weenies.
 
I never read the manual before playing around with a new gadget or hardware. I go right in and try to figure out how to use the thing with technological intuition. If I get stuck somewhere, I'll dig up the manual as reference to help me out.
 
I dive in first, ask manual later.
I do try to leave all the paperwork laying around on my desk so I can imagine that I'll pick it up and read it.
I oftentimes skip the maual and go straight to Google.
