I used to rom but I just root now, mostly so I can flat out remove some things that come preinstalled on the phone, do backups (this is important for when apps decided to update their interface to something craptastic (seen ESPN and tapatalk)) also I can sidelode things that don't work on whatever current android version I have because app devs are dump (again ESPN)

also adblocking and tethering
