No, I don't. I do have an answereing though, and if it's important enough to bother with, for the caller that is, then they can leave a message.

Sometimes, but only if they left a message.
Even if the message is for someone else as the result of a misdialed number. Just so they know they didn't get the message to whomever they thought they had.

I Google it unless its a local number. Pretty much everytime its turned out to be spam. I got a bunch of calls earlier this week, and Google showed it was someone calling saying they wanted to extend magazine subscriptions and asking for credit card numbers.

I don't answer any call if I don't know the number. If they don't leave a message then I couldn't care less what they wanted.

No, unless they leave a message and it's relevant.

no, i don't even answer it in the first place
if i don't know who is calling me, i don't answer the phone

I don't return missed calls even when I do know the number.

if it wasn't important enough for them to have left a message, it's probably not important enough to bother calling them back.

Never. If it is important, they will leave a message. Else it is usually someone saying I need a car warranty or how I cannot live another day without getting an insurance quote from their agency.

No if they don't leave a message then there is no reason to call them back

No, although I do google the number if there isn't a name on the caller id.

Nope. I don't even generally answer the phone if I don't know the number and am not expecting any calls.

Nope.

If it's important, they will leave a VM. I might call back at that point, depending on the matter.

It's pretty bad when I read that and the first thing I think is "leave you a virtual machine"? :^D

I just got a call from a South Carolina Number (I'm in CA, don't know anyone is SC). I was about to pick it up but I just missed it.

Do you guys return calls when you don't recognize the #?
No, not usually, unless they leave a message and it sounds like something I should respond to and let them know they had the wrong number.
But if it's just a miscellaneous missed call I won't call it back just for curiosity's sake. I have had people call me when I've called a wrong # and say, "hi, you just called me?" Then I have to explain it was a wrong number. I find these people must be incredibly bored.
