I had this guy send me like 6 or so texts meant for some random girl in the past month. Most of these were questions that required some sort of response. I'm on limited texting so I just ignored them but it's been too much recently so I just replied to stop.

Got me thinking though, who the hell keeps texting a number that they never get a response from?
 
Some twat waffle texted me the other day saying "baby let me know when your man is gone and I can come get some of that".

Just sent back, he's gone now, come on over. Wonder how that went.
 
I was talking to a friend of mine some time ago that works for Verizon, and she had said that for a number of months (even though the cell companies didn't want you to know) that their servers (or whatever they use) were randomly routing texts to the wrong people. Probably not the case here, but it did explain many things that seemed to be happening when I sent/recieved texts at the time. Random incoming, texts that never were received, etc.

So to answer the question, yes, I have.

Also - on some phones, if the originator sent it to multiple people, their phone will also receive that list, and respond to the first name on it (which could be you). I've had that happen many times, and is quite confusing.

I always respond to mis-routed text messages. it's fun to mess with the person on the other end.
 
I had a random text on my phonea few weeks back

"My ass still hurts from what you did it last night"

I laughed, thought about it, then replied

"Yeah I can't believe you fit it all in you dirty girl"

About an hour later I get a response

"Hey wtf, why didn't you tell me I had the wrong number lol, well played though"

Turns out it was my brother in law's brother trying to reach one of our other friends that he is "fake" <?> gay with

I don't get wrong text. i do get mis-dialed calls. my number is 1 number off NIU health department. so a few times a year i get calls from people.

i had one women call 3 times. each time i told her she had the wrong number and to look it up again. finally on the last call i pretended to be the health department. she said she was calling for results. i told her she was pregnant and had aids. she started crying and hung up...

My wife hit me on the shoulder for that and said i was mean.

I had one one time that was "Hey we're almost there."

So I responded, "Great! Can you do me a favor and stop and pick up some kitty litter and lube? Thanks!"

Only if they do it more than once, or if it sounds important. Each text message costs me $0.20. (AT&T pay-as-you-go service)
And then I'll probably block their number.


I can only assume that their text message bytes are routed over 0000-gauge wires made of pure rhenium.
 
i have gotten texts from people i didn't know albeit not many. in the case that it is a single text, i have ignored it. more than one tho and i text back 'wrong number'.
 
I've had a couple mistakenly sent text awhile back (doesn't happen very often). I think I just replied with "Who the fuck is this?"
 
I usually send a cock pick for good measure. You never know how or where you'll meet that special person.
 
Yea, all the wrong texts I've gotten are from guys trying to hit on what they think is a girl on the other end. I play along to see how far I can get. One or two of them sent over a picture of themselves at some point, in which it was made very apparent why they were given a wrong number.

I got some chicks phone # about 18 months ago with a new phone from Verizon. Apparently she got around and also didnt pay her debts. I am still getting debt collectors. But the guys have finally got the hint. I did respond to them for the lulz. One of them got a little posessive. Sent me a sound file that started off with "I just wanted to say I love you and miss you" Then went into "You know what? Fuck you, you forget me blah blah blah" in an elmo voice. It was baffling behavior that is for sure. I think he finally figured it out when one day we were texting and I made it obvious I wasnt the chick he thought he was texting for the past 6 months. He tried to call me multiple times as well but I never picked up. Havent heard from him since.

I mess with wrong text/calls/emails a lot. My favorite was years ago this girl kept emailing me thinking I was her friend even after saying I was not. So I said fuck it and started pretending to be. It went on for over 3 years till the emails just stopped out of nowhere haha. I had her send me pictures of parties we went too and everything. Usually would email like twice a month. She wasn't that bright because I would say crazy shit or make all kinds of kinky suggestions for us to do next time we meet up haha
 
I don't think I've ever gotten a wrong text.

I do however get a lot of mass texts from guys I maybe dated once or twice. it's funny stuff like "hey, long time no see. what are you up to?" sent by someone who clearly doesn't realize that I can see the "reply all" button.

I generally just ignore them, though I've been included on some funny chains by people who actually do reply-all and call them out on it.

They think I'm a girl. I usually play along for a while.
