HOV lanes are everywhere in nova but i don't bother calling. Usually there'll be enough cops out looking out for idiots like that during rush hour.

fuck nova. i drove down to nova one night to stay at a friend's house. when i left the next morning, i missed the exit for 495 north on 66. well, as it turns out, ALL FUCKING LANES BECOME HOV AFTER 495. so, i took the first exit off that i could find. there was a cop standing there and indicated to me to stop my car. i drove up to him and rolled down my window and tried to ask him to direct me back to 495. he told me to pull over. i tried explaining that i was lost and he yelled at me to pull over and reached for his gun. so, i pulled over. he told me to give him my license and registration. i did and told him that i'm lost and i missed the exit. he didn't care. he came back with a ticket. he asked me to sign and i said "but i'm lost and just needed directions" and he said "ok, and after you sign this ticket, i'll give you directions". so, i signed and the asshole gave me directions. so, he got back in his car afterwards. i was still in park on the shoulder and grabbed my cell to call my mom to tell her what happened. he comes back to my window with another ticket... he claims that i was using my cell phone while i was driving. i was like "but i'm parked... i'm not moving anywhere" and he said it didn't matter to him.

fuck nova.

ah, another wonderful experience w/ nova. Were they state troopers? every other state seems to hate them. especially since they pulled over a convoy heading for post-katrina aid. one that had been police escorted by every state up to VA....

it might have been... i don't remember. it was a few years ago.

Random, what highway are you talkign about? Don't forget the Katy Tollway now merges with the HOV, allowing single riders to pay a toll and take the HOV.

Oh, and most HOV lanes are open on the weekends ;) I used to take them in from San Antonio all the time when my wife and I would go for visits.

If they were not impeding traffic flow, and going the appropriate speed? No. If they were at 55 mph on the nose and choking off traffic? Without a second thought.

Oh, and

Would you report a person who has parked their car going the wrong way in front of their house? no, but it's annoying
Would you report an airline passenger who has snuck past more luggage than they're officially allowed? No, but I'd be happy if they got caught and forced to check it. Fuck them for filling the overhead bins prematurely with all of their shit and forcing me to check my single tiny bag
Would you report a morbidly obese person who has obviously eaten more than their fair share at the chinese buffer? no, but I'd be scornful of them
Would you report a beautiful topless model driving in the hov by herself looking dreamily at you? I'd let this one slide

59. Katy is the only HOV/Tollway right?

Get a life. This is the most trivial thing to worry about. I bet you're the type of person that calls the HOA and tells them your neighbor's grass isn't 2.75" high.

NO! I would not report anyone driving in violation of the law in an HOV lane because HOV lanes should not exist.

Don't you find it just a bit ironic that you have to pay tax's for roads, and additional lanes,------ THAT YOU CAN'T DRIVE ON!
Even more ironic, is the amount of people that agree with this, and are eager to serve as the hall monitor.
I predict, that one day they're gonna want to build a bridge to nowhere, (with cameras).

Hell fucking no!!! It's not my job to police the roads. If I saw someone driving dangerously or erratically I'd call the cops but driving in the HOV lane with only 1 person in the car doesn't fall into that category.

you kids in your big citites... i have no idea what HOV or HOA means, all I know is when you hit spaghetti junction here during rush hour you might as well just bend over and kiss your ass goodbye unless you know exactly which way you're going

HOV: hovercraft only

HOA: like whoa. "Stop and turn that horse around", the guard said. "You can't come in here. This is a place where 'special' people live."

I don't think it's worth my time to go after such minor crimes. If it's dangerous, I'll report it. For instance, one time I called in a guy's license plate who had no brake lights at all after I nearly ran into him twice.

Hmm this thread makes me wonder, how do you all feel about people that drive in the HOV lane with just their baby?

Because I'll admit I use the HOV lane during rush hour when I drive my kid to daycare. And I know since he's in a car seat it probably looks like I'm the only person in the vehicle.

Exactly. He probably wanted to call in this particular guy because his crime really "pays off", while the OP is stuck in traffic.

<--- slightly overweight enough to post this comment, of course

It's different because fatties bring it on themselves.
