I was looking for reviews on computer parts... a friend of mine told me about this place...

i discovered the Hot deals forum first...

then... OT...

i remember not knowing what "TTT" meant...

 
I signed up because a friend refered me to the FS/FT forum. I was having trouble selling my stuff at thetechzone.com forums which didnt have many users, and when I saw AT's fs/t forum I almost wet myself. It was so great.
 
I joined because TeAm Anandtech rocked in RC5 distributed computing. Addicted to stats!!! 😀

With all the other addicted users, I started to fit in within the first night. 🙂

I didn't like the forum software or people (at the time) and I had been lurking since November 1999.
 
someone gave me a link to this board to a drug thread and i thought you were all a buncha uptight, uninformed americans.
 
Yeah, it was a few days after my firs child was born, and I had found some bargains in Hot deals while buying parts for my first PC..so I joined

I remember you coming over here from bluelight. Glad you stayed here.

I came around here back before it was even UBB. I lurked sometimes and posted sometimes. Always had the same name I think.

I posted a little bit more on UBB than the old stuff and then on fusetalk I went through spurts. Pretty much been here for every troll and disaster. I don't remember the specific day but I think it was me overclocking my P90 to 120.
 
I remember the first time I posted in OT.

Red Dawn and Vapor were bashing the best president in the last 60 years. I took part in his defense!😀
 
I got called names by the veterans. I'm not sure if the reason for the insults was to try to intimidate me or if was their equivalent of gorillas beating their chests. Either way, my first impression was "this place has a lot of nimrods." Now that I know better, my impression is "this place has a lot of nimrods." 😀
 
sep. when i was looking to upgrade my HP P2 400MHz computer to an AMD Athlon 1.4 at the time. the highest performance 🙂.

i never dreamed that one day id cross the 1,000 post mark. looks like im halfway to 2,000!

and :Q spanky, i dont believe how much your postcount increased since the last time you high-speed neffed in my extremely controversal thread. just working on the postcount...

for the record, i never posted at bluelight, i was lurking on there because someone posted a link to that on the hulla board
bluelight isnt interesting at all.
i dont like it when people only talk about drugs in reallife, why would i want to go on a message board like that on the internet.
 
i read AT a bit and then lurked in DC and hot deals then i posted a hot deal (which no one replied to 🙁)then i went back to lurking then i joined the TeAm in july of 2000 or so. i think.
 
I come here for the articles, really.

I learked for so long it is not funny. then i started by helping people in tech support and such, them joined up in DC, then gravitated over to OT.
 
i tried searching for my first post in OT and after 132 pages of fusetalk backlogs the oldest one was in august of 2000, but it seems to me the archives don't go all the way back because i know i was posting before that. anywho, here it is

Yep, I do. I think I was in class at that moment. It was some Bolt.com fiasco, so I promptly registered and added my perspective about the situation. Of course I got something out of the deal. It was a pain, though. I wasn't afraid at all to join. When I have an opinion, I do not hesitate to share it. I wonder what became of that guy Matt Stone . . . uhmmm. . . .

Anyway, it was days of the hot deals. 😀
 
My first name was Incubator, and I posted a bit and quit coming. Then I forgot my password for it so I made another better name, and I liked it a lot better in the old days. Now it just seems stale and not as fun to come to anymore. I hope things get better.
