It depends. For example I have a 2002 Civic. The manual specifially says I'm supposed to change my oil every 1 year or 10,000 miles for the type of driving I do. I choose not to follow that and instead just change it every 5,000 miles (about 4 months). But this is better than what I'm supposed to do.
Other times I do worse. For example my tires are supposed to be rotated every 15,000 miles. That means at 15,000, 30,000, 45,000, etc. But the tires are only meant to last 50,000 miles. Why rotate them at 45,000 when you are replacing them at 50,000? To me that is pointless and I will skip the 45,000 tire rotation. So again I don't do all the regular services but it isn't going to hurt me here.
Air filters I change when they need to be changed - this I do regardless of the number of miles/months. It could be far less or far more often than I'm supposed to by blindly following round numbers that people made up.
