Do you regret buying your car?

Scouzer

Lifer
I'll start.

Model: 1991 Chevrolet Beretta GT
Price: $3100
Time: 2004
Regrets: Did not get mechanical inspection prior to buying which cost me greatly. Now that is over with, I am satisfied with the budget transportation.
Would you recommend to others?: No.

2003 Honda Civic, bought new, 56,000 miles and all I've had to do is change the oil, oil filter and air filter. So no I don't regret it.

Maybe

2005 Scion TC
$15950
June or July 2004

With the gas prices going up, even though I get 27mpg in the city, I would have probably purchased a Toyota Corolla instead and a automatic to.

the neon: yes, because its so small i can roll down all the windows from the drivers seat

the sable: no, its comfy and i like it.

bought both used

Model: 1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi
Price: $2000
Time: September 21, 2004
Regrets: Not many
Would you recommend to others?: Very much so. I had to get some repairs done, but I felt very satisfied with the purchase.

1996 Nissan Sentra
$1500
2003
Absolutely no regrets. Wouldn't sell it for anything less than $5k.
Would recommend.

1996 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0 V8
Price: ~$11,000 after financing
time: ~Oct. 2000
Regrets: excellent vehicle, only regret is how much I paid. My next purchase will be another Explorer.

-=bmacd=-

Model: 2002 Honda Accord SE (Special Edition)
Price: $17,244 which was $2,500 below invoice thanks to a loss leader ad
Time: June 2002 which was the WORST time to buy this car
Regrets: Should have waited until the next generation Accord (2003) was on sale a few months later. I wouldn't have gotten such a great deal but it would have been worth it.
Would you recommend to others?: Yes. It's a boring car but it's reliable, fuel efficient, great resale value and the #1 stolen car in my city. Like I said it's boring 🙂

Used 2001 Ford Escape
$8,500 (first car loan, didn't need any cosigners 🙂)
54,000 miles (I bought it last month)
GREAT condition, I'm taking an automotive class at college and my car is often the "test subject" because everything looks "how it's supposed to"

it Blue books at a little under $13,000

edit: oh ya, and it gets 27mpg highway, and 24 city

'94 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon
Rebuilt transmission and major service + smog check done.
$5500
Bought right at the beginning of this year.

I was planning on spending $16000 for a new or used car, but couldn't pass up a pristine Volvo. 🙂

Only regret is going Swedish yet again. Some tiny little panel needed replacing after the AC broke and it turned out to be a $600 part. I had a deal for free labor, but still, it reminded me why I wanted to go with a Honda originally. Drives like new though, so.

Well, I only bought two of the three. So I'll list those.

1976 Porsche 914 2.0
Price: $3,500
Time: 2001
Regrets: I sold the car in 2004, then tracked it down and bought it back in 2005. The only regret was selling it. 🙂

1986 Porsche 951 (aka 944 Turbo)
Price: $7,500
Time: 2005
Regrets: Yeah, right. 😛

Would I recommend either to someone else? Probably not. They're both loud (mainly road and engine noise), ride very stiffly, and have room for only two real-sized humans. I will never regret them, but they aren't very practical and I wouldn't recommend them to just anyone.

1993 Dodge Dakota 4x4 ext cab
Bought it in 2003 with 140,000 miles for $3650
Regrets: Only that I probably could have gotten it for less than $3500
Would I recommend it to anyone? Hell no. I like my cars because they are a hobby and this hobby takes a LOT of time!

Model: 1995 Isuzu Rodeo (in sig)
Price: $27k
Time: April 4, 1995 - drove it off the lot
Regrets: I worked 7 days a week for a very long time while in HS to pay for my share (~$10k then, paid another $10k after a while) and I still don't regret it... the car still works/looks good as new.
Would you recommend to others?: No. Who could I convince to buy an Isuzu ? 🙂

Model: 1990 Acura Integra
Price: $900
Time: 2005
Regrets: None, other than I wish I had some more money to buy a slightly newer car 😛

I LOVE my car, I've put over 60,000 miles on it since I got it used (had 21,000)
I have had 0 mechanical problems (knock on wood *beats off*) since I got it, definately a good buy.
