Do you recommend CTX?

Following the confusion I made between Philips and LG, just figured out I have another choice which is CTX PL7 and it is cheaper.
I never heared about CTX b4. So are they any good?

Thanks,

I don't recommend anything CTX. We have 34 CTX laptops and 2 of them broke about a year ago and they wouldn't reply to our e-mails or phone
calls till recently. Now the computers are out of warranty and they made us pay to fix them.

My CTX monitor developed a fault within the 3 year warranty,I telephoned them & next day I had a replacement arrive. And this was about 6 weeks ago.

🙂

You might want to get one of those with Sony FD Trinitron tubes, I know CTX makes those.

Maybe I was just unlucky, but I would not recommend CTX based on the two PR960F units that I received from Onvia (they are 19" trinitrons). Terrible focus problems (I'm not talking about minor flaws that can be corrected with convergence settings) and other defects as well (geometry on one and loose part in the case on another). Great price ($430), but I couldn't deal with the quality.

We have numerous Micron trinitrons here in the office that are all beautiful, so don't let anyone tell you that these kinds of problems (focus, geometry) exist on all trinitrons. They don't, at least not to the degree I found on the CTX units.

They were both also very harsh on the eyes for some reason. Decreasing brightness helped somewhat but whites became very gray at anything less than 50%.

I had a lot of trouble with my CTX VL700. I would not recommend them, but there are far worse companies.

I got one of the low end 19" CTX monitor. It went bad in like 8 month. Send it back for repair, cameback still kind of wierd. Tried to fix it myself and totally broke it. Send it back again, and get a completely new monitor. So quality wise not CTX is so good, and customer support sucks, took me at least 2 hrs to talk to a real person on the phone. If you are big company, probably you get better treatment, but if you are just consumer like me, I would avoid it. Plus the picture quality sucks compare to my new Viewsonic PF790. But like I said, my CTX was the low end model, don't know if the higher end ones is better. If you can, find a Samsung or Hitachi flat screen, they are suppose to be pretty good and there should be some deal if you search the forum.
