Yeah, sorry, I just didn't like it. I don't read a book a day though, so maybe you're a better judge.

I could have worded that better I guess, sometimes it's the same book for several days in a row ;)
Ah, that sounds more reasonable.

If I encounter someone who doesn't read, I assume that they don't really like to exercise their mind. I have a really hard time understanding that. For me reading seems to be a fundamental part of daily life.

I stopped reading around age 16(when i got my license) and started again around age 22 (when i got tired of going to the bar all the time).
non-fiction and fiction.
I pretty much only read humurous fiction. it's always entertaining.
and non-fiction is entertaining because i like learning new things.

no, sadly I don't recall finishing a book cover to cover, even for school.

2-300 or 200-300? So you read like 10 books a day? EDIT: or is that the total for all 6 of you? Either way, that's pretty unbelievable.

Hmmm... 200-300 books per month per kid, you'd be picking up 1500 books a month at the library... hmmm... (edit: I suppose they could share)

I'm reading 3 books right now:

A book about poker when I ride the bus
A Short History of Nearly Everything when I'm bored at work
Harry Potter at home when I'm tired and can't sleep

I don't doubt that, but if you read 10-15 hours a day, it seems like you must've missed out on a lot more than just TV. Like... life.

The Da Vinci Code was the last book I read. Quite possibly the best one I've come across.

I don't read much now though. Don't care too much for reading unless it's required.

<-- 20, I have read about 10 books already this summer, hope to read that many more before I go back to school and pretty much stop reading for entertainment because of schoolwork and intoxication.

EDIT: as far as which books, I'm not a fan of anything you can buy in a supermarket...but I'm not exactly reading moby dick. I'll put my list up when I get home.

Who's sad, and why?
my guess is the people who don't read or don't see the point. If I read a book for a couple hours I feel like I've accomplished something, but watching TV for the same amount of time feels like a waste.

I used to read a lot of novels but now I have problems with accommodation (ie focusing eyes). It's too difficult and exhausting to be worth it.
