my mother claims it stains clothes too, but i've never seen it happen in all the years i've been doing it.

how would i know how much to put in if i can't see how big the load is? my pitiful mental capacities are already taxed doing that confusing "sorting colors from whites" thing. how do they expect me to make abstract visual approximations on top of that? ;)

-Depends what your wife means by "staining"- If she means undissolved powder detergent - yes. POssible residual undissolved soap sticking to the clothing after wash/ spin cycles. Or if you use a liquid detergent with bleach on a load of dark clothing.

For optimal washing use appropriate size settings and do not jam pack as much clothing as possible into washer. Water> soap> Clothes

the real issue isn't when you put the friggin soap in the clothes washer, it is
My wife berates me
If she gives you sh!t about something this petty - i suggest the following:
put BLEACH in by mistake and actually ruin some clothes,
then she will tell you never to do the wash again! hahahahaha. problem solved.

don't think i'm kidding either..some women will beat you bloody trying to get you
to eat/sleep/act/look the way they want you to. direct confrontation is to bloody,
so appealing to their image of you as a child (clueless and irresponsible) can
frequently get you off the hook..

basically, you encourage them to feel you are not to be trusted with household
chores....muaaaa.. this strategy is crucial to the child rearing years..gotta avoid
those nasty diapers..you'll see!
