Do you prefer X-Box or Playstation 2?

This is how I see it:

X-Box: System is more advanced, not as developed yet, not a lot of people have the system

PS2: considered an "older" system, way more developed then X-Box, many people have it.

Right now in my books, PS 2 has the advantage. PS 2 has way more games. I'm still deciding on which system to buy. I need your opinions!

Go check some of the gaming threads/sites for the latest E3 news. That will help make your decision for you. Frankly, the X-Box is behind the PS2 in the total number of games and always will be for the simple fact it came out later. However, their upcoming games such as Project Ego look awesome. Plus the X-Box has the benefit of online gaming built-in along with a hard drive. That saves $$ in accessories cost right there.

This debate has been driven into the ground but I would say go with the X-Box.

Owned and played both.
PS2 has more games right now.
X-Box is coming out with tons this year.
PS2 has lots of really good games right now.
X-Box has like 3 good games right now. More coming soon.
PS2 has unavoidable jaggies.
X-Box has clear, crisp graphics which make me wet myself.
PS2 has The Getaway, the most ambitious action/adventure/sim game ever..
X-Box has Project Ego, the most ambitious RPG ever.

If you were to buy one, I would say look at the games out and coming out for each system, decide which you'd feel you'd play more.
Technologically they're both great, with the X-Box ahead by a bit. But PS2 has a FAR FAR more enjoyable current library of games.
I wish I didn't sell my PS2. I think I might buy it again later this year. :D

Does the Xbox have GTA3?

I think that answers your question.

xbox is going to have 200 games for it by xmas according to ms. that may be correct (who knows) but it will probably be 15 or so quality titles, 10 of which are available on other platforms.

Xbox for me...better sports games by far.

And a soon-to-be unbeatable online service. Don't worry, the games will come. How long did the PS2 go after its launch before it finally released any good titles? Yeah.

PS2

the PS2 has fun music games like Parappa 2, Gitaroo Man, Frequency, Rez, Britneys Dance Beat  and any future DDR installments (along with the DDR PSX library. i also hope Space Channel 5 part 2 will come out for PS2). it's these games that form a non-typical genre that has somewhat taken form on the PS2. along with the music genre, the PS2 seemed to have the edge in the RPG genre as seen by Final Fantasy X, Dark Cloud, and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts. i'm not going to go into many other details but the Xbox does not really have any genres exclusive to the system although i believe that consoles strongest point is FPS games (althuogh they truely belong on the PC). anyways, PS2 seems to have gaming genres that appeal to everyone from extreme sports to RPG to music to adventure to platform to sports, etc etc. the xbox seems to only have serious games and nothing light hearted. if i have non-video gamers come over, the PS2 and the Gamecube make excellent for party games, but the Xbox seems to only be targeted towards serious gamers who are into nothing but sport and shooter games. after a while those get boring. so if you fit the latter, get a Xbox. if you want all around fun, get a PS2.

Thats not true, MS and their developers showed 20 or so AAA titles coming out in the next 12 months, most of them before Christmas. Plus theres probably some more being held off for TGS. Nintendo has Mario and Starfox this year. Thats it, the rest wont show up till next year. I bet their are more quality titles on Xbox than their are on GC by Christmas

Ya..........have fun playing that PC you got there when you have a couple of friends over. IMO there isnt anything more fun then playing 4v4 halo online with 3 buddys at your house. Acually play halo online with some friends and tell me that the PS2 is the superior console.
