Do you practice Tai Chi or use a Kata?

Just curious who uses a Kata or Tai Chi for their morning excercise or who practices it? I use a combination of both. Tai Chi to warm up, my Kata to practice and actually excercise as my Kata tends to be perty intence. I then do some running and finally cool down with a short improvised Tai Chi style excercise of my own. My Kata is freeform, so it doesn't follow a particular style, but I have found out the Tai Chi excercises I do most closely match those done by Wu Kam-chan (aka the Wu Style) which is really interesting.

Anybody else do either or both of these?

(Brief information on Tai Chi and the different styles)

I do Kata weekend mornings, otherwise I do it in the evenings to relax from work. Most of the Kata I do are set, not freeform. Although I love to freeform every now and then. If you're wondering my Kata are from Goju Ryu, there's some really beautiful Kata in there, and some friggin hard ones.

Yup, 8 years now . And I still suck :)
Thankfully some of the Kata is quite slow and focuses on breathing and balance. Nice for a start and finish, some of the high level Kata really take it out of you though, I never thought I could be that acrobatic ;) I've always been interested in Tai Chi, I got taught a little by my grandmother, and I still remember some, even though it was nearly 15 years ago.

What style do you practice?

I practice the Zheng Manqing taijiquan form at least 4 times a day, but I should do more. I only know the first 10 postures from the Zheng sword form.

I do an hour of gun kata every morning before work. I find it gives me the correct perspective for the rest of the day.
