Do you play your games again?

I'm not talking about games that should be played again like multiplayer games or strategy games.

But games like Farcry, Doom, Half-Life, COD....

I can't stand to play these games over a second time. Once I play a game, it's over.

If they have different endings, then yes. I usually remember just about everything that happens in the game, so it kind of sucks for replaying a lot of games.

I've replayed FarCry a few times. I'm working my way through Doom 3 and will finish it for the first time. I don't think I'll play it again soon though. I recently finished Call of Duty and that game seemed really short, but alot of fun, so I may play it over again. So I would say, yes. As long as a game is entertaining, I will play it more than once.

i wish I could replay FF7 again. 72 hours of playtime...I WAS TEN MINUTES FROM THE END, and I saved the game...

Come back the next day, the memory card is corrupted in the playstation. I haven't touched it since...God I wanted to beat it so bad. No game hints...NOTHING to help me. I was just beating ass without help. Sigh...

I usually play my games more than once. I am picky about which games I play so there are usually only a handful out there which I play in the first place. The rate that I finish them is faster than they are produced and I often enjoy going through a second time even years down the road just to relive some of the good memories. Plus, it can be fun to play games like Doom 3 again with a newer video card that allows max graphics settings.

I replay old stuff all the time. I probably spend more time doing that than playing new titles for the first time.

Recently I played through Gears of War on all difficulties (not PC I know) and Bioshock, and it was well worth it. I enjoyed the challenge from the "Insane" difficulty of Gears and the Hard mode in Bioshock. And particularly with Bioshock I learned a lot more about the (awesome) story on the 2nd time through.

Will be loading up Doom 3 again this weekend on my new Beast system. It was extremely repetitive but my old system sucked balls so it would be nice to see the game the way the devs wanted us to.

Ya, it is. I'm ok with that though because sometimes I want something less dynamic when I sit down to play video games.

Most of the games I feel are worth playing once are worth playing twice, and many are worth playing lots of times. Space it out, and it doesn't get repetitive, but if a game is only good on the first time through, IMHO, that's an awful game.

not really, but then again I seem to play online FPS' and strategy games the most. My attention span seems to have lessened, so online FPS demos, like quake wars are a great hit for me :)

I'm on my 5th back-to-back BioShock play through.

But this is an exception, normally I play through games only once.

Very true. I still play games like Quake 2 and Jedi Outcast since they never get old. Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 were only played through once because they both sucked; I'll probably never play either of them again.

I've played through a few single-player games more than once. The best one as far as replay value goes was probably Knights of the Old Republic. Going through it as Light side is a lot different than going through as Dark side.

Both are a lot of fun, though.

There are certain games I could play over and over.

HL2 is one of them. I will never get tired of playing that game. I just downloaded the cinematic mod, and looks like I'm going to play it another 3 times. I just finished MOHA, and I am most likely going to play it again. It was too short for my taste.

Then there are other games that once I finish, I never want to see again, like Need for Speed for example. Sometimes it carries on for so long, I cant wait to finish it and put it away.

HL2 and Deus Ex I replayed 3 times each. Hitman 2 I replayed about 6 times or maybe even more (love that game).

Typically though, I don't replay many of them, unless I get nostalgic for something really old, like when I replayed Phantasy Star 2 on an emulator late last year (good times!).

Depnds on the game. GTA III, Vice city and especially San Andreas have huge replay value. I still play San Andreas nearly every day. I have finished the game so many times I know all the lines by heart. Still a very fun game.

I play console games again, but I don't replay PC games too often. Halo PC I've played and beaten countless times, though...

You will not get much replayability out of a FPS' single player campaign.

Now a good story / character driven party based cRPG with multiple paths (such as good versus evil) however......

I usually replay the very good games about quarter to halfway through before I get bored and move on to something else. The only game I can think of that I actually replayed through the entire game was KotOR 1. I wish I could replay games and not be bored by them, but that just doesn't seem to be the case.

Ironically, one of the things that generally makes playing games good - the necessary lengthy playing time - is the one thing that probably keeps me from replaying them all the way through. I can watch a good movie repeatedly and really enjoy it, but doing that is not nearly the time investment replaying a game is. I probably would be more inclined to replay games if there were some sort of abridged version I could play after I play it through the first time.
