Do you play music to get your self started on work? This probably doesn't work if you always have music playing though.. I've found my self lately that I'm playing music when ever I want to get started working and once I'm working I end up turning it off because it makes it hard to concentrate depending on the works, anyone notice this as well?

Certain music for certain work?
Certain times when you can't have music playing at all?

i think i work better with music playing. i think its like without music anything can distract me but with music playing, it helps me keep focus or maybe is like a small enough distraction that other things don't distract me as much..

I definitely do it when I'm working around the house, whether it's cleaning or a project.
At work, it's not a necessity, but sometimes I listen.

For work that requires thought and planning, like essays or math, I can't listen to music because it distracts me too much. However, when I'm working on art assignments I MUST listen to music or I just don't work well or feel creative.

Agreed to an extent, for essays I've found that if I'm just writing albiet unstructured, I can do it with music on and it helps but if I'm correcting it or writing an essay in response to a question like a paper, I don't think I can do it with music on.
