do you pick up calls that you have no idea who they are?

just curious to see how many of you, pick up random callers on your cell phone?

i just got a call from a 713 are code and had no idea who/what that is, until I googled it and they left a message.
 
I only have phone service because of DSL. I don't even have a phone plugged in. Everything goes through my cell and if I don't have the number (a name comes up), then I let it go to voicemail.
 
my only phone is my cell, and if i dont recognize the number (not in my phone book), i dont answer it.

it pretty much comes down to, if they really want to talk to me, they can leave me a voicemail and ill call them back.
 
..I leave the answering machine on 24/7..friends and family leave a message..otherwise the "box" deals with it.
 
I don't pick up calls from private numbers unless I'm expecting a call from someone I know that has their number blocked. Thats usually only the parents or sister.

Edit: Also don't pick up calls from displayed numbers unless I know who it is.
 
No. I figure that someone calling from a blocked/unknown number is obviously concerned about maintaining their privacy and not giving away their identity. I think it's only fair to respect their wishes and not invade their privacy by picking up the phone and talking to them.
 
I get calls all the time from random people on my cell. I usually pick it up, unless Im sleeping, which happens alot !


Ive had calls from girls named Hope saying they will meet me at a certain location at a certain time...

Ive had calls from people thinking I was verizon and wanted to talk to me about billing?!?

Ive had calls from someone asking if I was McDonalds, that one was just wierd.

Ive won trips on my cell phone, and they weren't in my name.



I get random weird calls prob. atleast 2-3 times a week. Sometimes its interesting, cause I mess with a lot of people now, but sometimes its annoying.


The other night I was at my friends house and we were playing some poker when my phone rings. I pick up and its this girl on the other line, convo went like this...


Me: Hello?

Her: Hey

Me: Hey, whats up.

*silence*

Her: Nothing

*silence*

Her: Who is this?

Me: Who is this? You called me.

Her: I think I might have the wrong number.

Me: Thats ok, so whats up.

same except i have a phone hooked up to an answering machine. If it's important, i'll call em back 😉
