My girl and I also split it. If I get dinner, she'll get it the next day. If one of us is low on cash, the other will cover for them.

unless i specifically want to take her out somewhere...but i can understand the idea of dating someone on a regular basis and paying for everything.

This is what we do as well. It just makes more sense for us.

When we go out to a restaurant together, I'll pay. If we're with friends she'll pay for herself. If its something like lunch or takeout, she'll sometimes pay or we'll split.

Especially people living on a college budget. Paying all the time would KILL you (unless you're loaded that is).

I'm unemployed currently, but still pay sometimes. We've been together almost 5 years, we have an understanding and she is cool with whatever. :)

I did tell her once I get my new job, that I will take her to a very fancy restaurant though, and a night up in Canada, since she has been stuck paying for little outtings here and there.

after being with my g/f for 3 1/2 years, money is probably the last thing on our mind (as in who pays) whenever we do something. Sometimes I'll pay, sometimes she pays, sometimes we'll both dump out whatever we have in our wallet/purse and both chip in...it's not really a big deal who picks up the check since I'm sure we'll be combining funds in the near future :)

Usually I pay, but sometimes she does. Doesn't really matter to me, the money I make I feel is both of ours and not just mine.

Hah, the irony in this statement is that one of my best friend did the same thing... and his last name is Sims. :p

Mostly split, but I pay full sometimes. She and my wallet wouldn't like it so much if I payed all the time.

I pick up the bill almost all the time, but every once in a while she'll "treat" me to dinner

I'm with you 100%. We are America's feminists and we believe in equality for women. They want to steer clear of the old ways, such as cook our meals and clean around the house. Therefore, I believe we should steer clear of our own traditional male roles of having to pay or opening the door for them because it's all about equality!

Yep, and my gf is well aware of this. Cant have your cake and eat it too. I know she would rather be my partner than my slave, so that has to go the whole way. Cant half-ass it when its convenient with her.

I dont have to pay for a woman to keep her. She has to pay to keep me. :p I dont want no cheap golddigging broad. Never have, never will. If you even have to ask her to pay her share after you've been going out a while, she's not worth going out with at all.

On a more realistic note, we have a tendency to end up in restaurants with only 20s, and I usually take it upon myself to just carry it all, since its usually 10 bucks a head or so. She does do it pretty often. ;)

I believe it should each person should pay for their own part. I don't want some woman thinking I'm always going to be paying for them, because it pisses me off when they want to go places and order things that they normally wouldn't.

If you have to pay to "keep" your women, you aren't in a real relationship. Get a new girl.

I'm not a macho type, but for some reason I'd always get uncomfortable if my girl wanted to pay.

Not have to...want to.

But then again she did buy me a 5000 dollar Bar so I figure it worked out.

I mean "keep" as in take care of them. But then again she offers to get the meal sometimes and I oblige.
