Do you pay attention to banners?

noticed someone in the opera thread complaining about advertisments...and i got to thinking.....i really dont notice them...banner ads i completely dont notice, the flashing ones may catch my attention for all of a quarter of a second...just long enough to realize its an ad and then i dont pay attention anymore...the only ones that do bother me are the ones that pop up in ie...kinda like an expanded banner ad that follows when you scroll...sorry thats the best way i know to explain it...maybe someone will know what i'm talking about and post the correct name for them

so that brings me to the question...does banner advertising on websites bother you?

I don't really notice banner ads either. Pop-ups ads did annoy the hell out me, but Google toolbar solved that problem, then SP2 solved it again, then Firefox solved it yet again.

I think most of us are so desensitized to ad banners that we don't notice them anymore while we surf the internet. I stopped noticing them because most of them are spammer sites, especially those animated ones -- shoot the <insert animated picture here> and win -- and those animated ones with sound.

Ads do not bother me in general. I do not pay attention to them, and IMO, a lot of websites would look "empty" without ads surrounding them. They are just like commercials, it's the accepted part of internet surfing. I don't get mad when I see them, as I know they are the only reason why I can enjoy whatever site I'm on.

I'm not bothered by most ads. The ones that DO bother me however are ones that mak noise, or ones that sream video or audio or something that makes the site take a longer time to load.
Another thing I hate....Those stupid green links that when you hover over them, they create this big box and you can't see what you're reading in an article.
