So how many members here own stocks? I personally have 20 shares in AMD, and 50 shares in Microsoft. Who else here owns stocks? If you do, post which one(s), and how many shares you have.

Mostly energy stocks from oilfield service companies to large integrated refining/petrochemical companies. More humans = more energy consumption.

I put $3000 in the market just to play with. Was down to $2700 at one point. Today I made it up to $3190. Only been playing for a few months, so far I've made more that if it had been sitting in savings.

individual stocks i own are in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry such as pfizer, amgen, gen-probe...

Ebay, TTMI, Toyota, UHCO, Franklin Templeton, Investors Bank and Trust, Walmart, and some ETFs

I just liquidated my position of Amgen today

I've got lotsa shares in IBM. Sold half for slight profit for my wedding @ 85... now 3 months later my other half is going on 97.

Diversification is key people!!

people like buying individual stocks to actively support companies they like and believe in. it gives ppl a better sense of ownership rather than mutual funds, EFTs, or similar

even though i own individual stocks, a majority of my investments is through diverse otions such as mutual funds and what not

DWRI

bought in the IPO of $12. 400 shares total between my dad and me and my brother. i originally wanted more but he didnt want to cough up the cash.

and then i wanted to buy AMD at $12, pull out of DWRI and get AMD, but noooo he wouldnt let me. GRRRRRR
