im getting a Zen Xtra

The Zen Xtra rules. Way better than the overpriced iPod, and way better sound quality.
ah yes, the inevitable price/sound quality argument. each person buys a product that fits their needs, and for most the mp3 player that fits their needs is an ipod. however, others prefer the 40% heavier and 85% larger zen. the sound quality argument is garbage, unless you own a pair of $100 headphones or hook up your portable mp3 player to a high quality home stereo system.

You couldn't be more wrong. We own both the ipod (20 gig) and the Zen Xtra. First of all, the Zen Xtra is not 85% larger. Secondly, I can attest that the sound quality is better on the Zen. This is with a relatively cheap pair of Sony MDR-Q55 buds. But, whatever..

do the math, it's 85% larger by volume. and i'm not saying that the sound quality of the zen isn't better, i'm saying that you won't be able to hear any difference unless you own a pair of high quality headphones, and i know because i've tried.
