Been lots of gun posts lately, do you own a gun?

I don't own one, I am not sure I ever will, but I do admit, I am some what tempted...maybe I will go to a shooting range and take a safety class/lessons one of these days.

(I do hope I added the poll correctly)

Great way to start. You'll instantly be hooked, plus you'll learn safety right off the bat.

Oh, and of course I own a gun :p A few actually. Hopefully someday a whole lot.

That is what I am worried about, not sure the wife or family would be pleased...my brother in law maybe...

Bring the wife too, so shes educated on the use. A handgun is not a dangerous object if everyone in its environment knows how to safely operate it.

I brought my wife one time and she was hooked. Same thing with my sister. She'd never even touched a gun untill she was 25.

i don't own one. though i could see myself buying something small someday just to shoot at targets and well know how to use a gun.

until recently i was very "i will never own one", but i figure if i am not say shooting people randomly in the street and become some crazy criminal it is totally ok. friend of mine bought a handgun recently to learn with (forgot what kind, sadly the only thing i remember is it is an handgun that is in counterstrike i think and h&k something)

A 9mm handgun with snakeshot is best home defense weapon there is. Won't penetrate even drywall 20'away. But closer, beware.
Also have double 12ga shotgun and Lee-Enfield 303 elephant long gun built for finnish armies crimean war preparations...
BTW also have dogs, a dobie warlock and portuguese shepherd. Both gun trained, and hate others with a gun, will automatically alert.
Good boy! My wife sleeps much better when I'm out of town now that she is expert marksperson as well.

No, but I don't hate em. I don't think I'll ever own one unless I absolutely need to...too much work.

yeah, it might be fun to take the wife, I have a few friends that are ex-army, and they shoot, maybe I can get them to recommend a gun range.

Bad idea. The snakeshot will penetrate maybe a few inches tops, creating a large flesh wound. Don't believe me? Look at the terminal ballistics of birdshot from shotguns, it's pathetic. Causes a lot of pain, but that it, and we both know pain isn't enough to stop a determined assailant. Plus, a 12 gauge shotshell holds a lot more pellets than a 9mm casing.

guns are for more than self defense...
gotta love all these people who say they will never own a gun. they think the only thing to do with it is to shoot people.

go educate yourself

Don't own one, will probably never own one, but I don't hate them. I prefer to shoot them in a computer game.
