Do you or your SO cook dinner every night?

I don't see that every night you have to break out the pots and pans and cook away... I think sometimes you can just foreman grill up a piece of fish, microwave a potatoe and eat. She insists that we should cook every night, or nearly every night.

Am I stuck in the world of bachelordom or does my SO have unrealistic expectations??

I guess it depends on your schedule. My parents and some friends of mine cook almost every night. But I wouldn't be able to do it.

I'm still in bachelordom ;)

I'll generally cook one or two nights per week, making enough food for 2-3 days each time, and eat out or microwave the rest of my meals.

I suppose it depends on the definition of "cook every night" is. I make my own food almost every night, but usually it's leftovers of more complicated stuff I made previously. I keep frozen pizzas and stuff around for when I'm tired or busy and don't have any leftovers.

I cook maybe once or twice a week. I don't eat things out of the microwave, stuff like that seems so bad for you. I eat out generally every meal of the day (healthy stuff.)

When I was single and living with roomates, I ate out a lot and rarely cooked. Now that I'm married, she cooks and we eat out.

wow... so apparantly most people actually do cook...

I'm amazed. I'm finding out so many things about me that have been weird and I never knew it.

My wife cooks at least 3-4 nights a week. We go out to dinner, eat with friends or have left-overs the other nights.

I cook food for 2-3 days so I don't need to cook every day.

I've only bought fastfood 4 times in 4 years.

i used to cook everyday.. everything from scratch... sauces, bread, even made my own cheeses... but the b/f works all the time and doesnt get home till late and wont eat. And VeggieFrog is gone. So, I usually live off PB&J or Tuna sandwiches and only cook occasionally.

I got tired of throwing food away.. cooking for the b/f who is too tired to eat.

I think this is a reasonable request, whereas giving up the soymilk and cereal was not.

I live alone and do my fair share of cooking, but I try to make stuff that'll last for at least lunch the next day.

What I eat most of the time is home cooked foods, but I reheat in the microwave at least 4 days a week.

Now that the kids are grown, we cook in big quantities so that there is always something to reheat or defrost and reheat.

8 days left of this month and I've spent $986.78 on food! Imagine all the constructive things I might do with that money if I didn't live my life in restaraunts! :(

If you BOTH cook, then do it. Because cooking with two peoples go es aLOT faster, even if the other person plays "slave" and just follows commands. When i cook by myself i take a good 2-3 hours from start to finish, but with a friend we do it in 1-1.5 depending what we try
