I like the Spice flavor, but I don't really consider that dip. You can get it at a lot of Military PX's but I have never seen it elsewhere.

Yes, I have been dipping for about 12 years now. Bad habit, if you haven't tried it already, don't.

Neve dipped, smoke occasionally. Dipping just seems like a huge hassle with having to spit constantly and what not

I tried the flavored types(like hawken wintergreen) when i was ~13(before there was an enforced age limit on tobacco here) and liked them because the flavoring overpowered the tobacco to the point that it was like eating a lifesaver up to a point(didn't seem to have much nicotine in it either because I never felt a rush or any ill effects). After I had stopped for several years, I tried a skoal pouch and it made me extremely nauseous so I never picked up the habit again.

Just curious, but how old are you and when did you start?

yeah, dipped several times, but never purchased my own tin. it's a different buzz than smoking cigarettes, it's more body, than that instant head buzz from cigarettes.

anybody try that marlboro dip, I got coupons for 4 free cans. I wonder how it compares to cope. for some reason I picture somebody cutting open cigs and pouring the tobacco in cans.

Other than my dentist telling me to quit every time i go, not much.

Lips burn slightly sometimes, if you do it too much especially. Leave some in for a few hours, then put another in kinda hurts.

I started around 10 years ago when i was 16 i think. Buying the cheap stuff and now only use Copenhagen long cut. I'd say i do it twice a day, when i get home from work and a little before bed. I don't know why i do it, i just do, i guess thats addiction for ya.

Every so often when i finish a can i tell myself i wont buy anymore, next day im at 7-11 paying $10 for 2 cans that last a week.

I started for the buzz, kind of made me dizzy and just want to lay down for a bit. Don't really get a buzz anymore from it, occasionally the first one for the day.

Don't start if you're thinking, its nasty, habit forming, unhealthy, and expensive.

We still have the $5.29 for two can deal going on down here for cope. If I was paying $5/can, I'd quit. I pretty much only do it at work and if I go hunting or fishing. 1 can lasts me about a week.

1. Never share your drink with someone that dips unless you like backwash that looks like raw sewage
2. If someone is ever pestering you to try dip, ask them to show you the inside of their bottom lip first (fold the lip down). That should be enough reason to never fucking start.

Amen to that. I dipped for about 15 years my self. Totally disgusting habit that I enjoyed quite a bit. When I started, Skoal was .99/can and I worked about a can and a half through my mouth a day. Wake up and your mouth has that oh so nasty taste from the day before. Gross. I had a neat experience once: Coke used to come in glass bottles and I used them to spit in. I piled them up all over the back seat of my car. Mind you, I lived in Florida at the time. Over the course of about a year, the bottles kinda fermented in the backseat until one day KAPOW! Sons of bitches asploded all over my car. I had glass shards all over my dashboard, from the back seat! Luckily I wasnt in the car at the time. Smelled really good in there afterwards. Had to bring the car to a professional cleaner to remove the stench. Yummy!

Edit: Also who here who has dipped hasnt taken a nice big mouthful of juice, thinking it was your drink? I am about to throw up remembering that.

Peace

I have dipped, and dip on occassion. It is a good way to relax, and not hard on my asthmatic lungs. I think every dipper has taken a swig of spit at least once, it is the ultiamte "oh shit" experience and fosters an everlasting sense of caution.

Questions:

1) Better healthwise than smoking a cig?
2) Taste good?
3) What kind of buzz do you get compared to a cig?
4) Brands you recommend?

I have never tried it but I might so I want to know what to expect.

Whatever you do, do not swallow the spit!

Why do you say that? It was gross, but I swallowed some spit, once.

Most people who are not accustomed to the taste are going to throw it right back up. Especially if it's a decent amount.

haha...I kinda wanted to, but I wasn't supposed to be dipping (or smoking, that's why I was dipping in the first place ;)) and I didn't have much of a choice lol

ive done that before. "are you chewing tobacco?"

*gulp "no, not me!"

i chewed for a while. copenhagen and red man. id put a slice of apple in the red man pouch, made it taste nummy. mostly i chewed on long trips on my motorcycle, since stopping to light a smoke every so often was a pain. one of my relatives in texas ended up having most of his bottom lip removed due to oral cancer from chewing for like 90 years and i quit. at least lung cancer is on the inside =P

theres no option for "yes, but i quit"
