After working for the same company for 17 years, getting promoted within that company, relocating to take positions of increased responsibility and pay, I can definitively say that every day is exactly the same. While the scope of responsibility has increased, so has the level of BS I have to deal with. I work a 10-hour day about 50% of the time. Working a 13-16-hour-day happens the rest of the time. On top of that, the calls at 10:30PM, 1:13AM and 5:30AM happen at least 3 days a week. I do not get a break. Friday means nothing to me. I can retire in 3 years. I know they will throw a promotion at me at the 19-year point. I wil take it and stay around for 2 more years so I can retire at that pay grade. Friday? Just another day.
