Ok here's the deal...I want to get a Linksys Router with 4port switch to share my cable modem and protect my LAN.

Windows XP Home Edition can not join Domains, only Networks. Will this be sufficient for this?

Or do I need to get XP Pro so I can join Domains?

You can use either a domain or a workgroup. Which ever one u use isn't going to effect the routing or NAT. They're more for sharing procedures. If your router has print sharing abilities, make sure it's on the same workgroup as your other machines.

actually all 3 computers have their own printers ;)
Thanks for the tip though :)

It's for file sharing, and for splitting one cable modem.
