Are you considering seeking therapy, but are unsure whether it's the right choice for you? If certain issues have been causing dysfunction in your life, and you aren't sure how to make the necessary changes, therapy can help. Dealing with your problems with the help of a professional can get you out of that rut, and into a more productive pattern. Almost anyone with a dysfunction can benefit from seeking professional help from a therapist.

The Do I need Therapy Test will help you determine the steps in your path to emotional wellness. Was going to post the link in P&N, but it wouldn't help anyone in there;)

I'm sure everyone would benefit from some kind of therapy but some need it much more than others

Therapy is just one ignorant person with unresolved hangups leading another ignorant person with unresolved hangups down a road that has never existed.

You have experienced symptoms of a major depressive episode, but not enough to qualify as a full-blown episode, or as major depressive disorder.

I agree, I don't need your stinkin' help. :)

"Look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. I don't need therapy."

Why would you say therapists have unresolved hangups?

I got results that I think were quite fair; I would agree with them.

Your responses indicated that your relationships are at least in some way dysfunctional, and may be causing problems in your life.
The test also detected symptoms of one or more disorders that did not meet all the criteria, but that may still merit treatment.

The following are the areas of concern detected by the screening:

You have experienced symptoms of a major depressive episode, but not enough to qualify as a full-blown episode, or as major depressive disorder.
You experience some symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
You experience some symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
