I've made the alarm clock obsolete because I always wake up before the alarm goes off.

Yup. Every week day.

Set the alarm for 5:15, hit snooze 3 times, get up at 5:42.

It allows me to wake up in stages...as ridiculous as that might sound.

nope that makes sense. It depends what statge of sleep you're in when the alarm goes off. Funny think is when the alarm goes off, if I'm sleepy, I hit snooze and hardly notice. But if the baby is crying, I'm up and alert. Maybe I should set her cry as my alarm :hmm:

I wear the snooze out. Worst is this one alarm I have for my phone that lets you adjust the snooze time on the fly.

I don't even use an alarm clock anymore. My cat wakes me up when he wants food, which happens to be when I need to wake up. Sometimes I throw something at the cat to get him to leave me alone, so that's kind of like a snooze button.

I just set my alarm for ~1/2 hour before I actually need to get up and let the ah heck ring its battery dead. Never liked the concept of a snooze button - at least if I need to get my a*s out of bed to turn the alarm off, it's highly unlikely I'll fall back asleep.

i used to set my alarm exactly 27 minutes before i needed to get up and then hit snooze 3 times. most of the time i was awake the whole time, just didnt get out of bed.
recently tho I have started just getting up the first time the alarm goes off (setting it for when i need to actually get up). so far I haven't noticed the change making any kind of difference in how i feel the rest of the morning.

Never really need snooze, also don't really use an alarm clock day to day.

Flexible schedules for the win.

I only use the on/off switch on the clock. The only time I would need the snooze button is when I need to wake up later.

For whatever reason, I feel much more refreshed if I set my alarm an hour early, then I reset the alarm for 30 minutes later, then again 30 minutes later. I don't know why, but I feel MUCH better than if I just set the alarm for the correct time.

This is not snooze, I just reset the alarm twice.

I do, but I'm trying to stop. I think I'm noticing that when I snooze I fall asleep long enough to be really draining when whatever sleep cycle I am is cut short. The few times I've forced myself to bounce right out of bed the rest of the day felt much better.

I noticed that not using it makes for a much less groggy morning so I don't use it any longer.

My snooze has become obsolete with the alarms that slowly gain in volume and annoyance to ease me out of slumber.

Then I turn on the tv as I lay in comfort for a few minutes listening to how crappy the world is before I get up. The radio in the bathroom is set to blare with the music I hate most in the world in 15 minutes if I don't get up to turn it off. If I don't, there is no way I could listen to that crap.

I have never used it myself, but I know a lot of people who hit snooze multiple times before actually getting up. To me this is like adopting a system to get less sleep. Wouldn't it be better to remain asleep until you need to get up, instead of interrupting your sleep earlier than necessary?

I get that there are times when you just don't need to get up when you thought you did, but to use it on a regular basis... I don't know why you wouldn't just set the alarm for a later time, then get up when it goes off.

I completely agree with you, but I hit snooze anyway. The trick is to be late to everything.

Yes, I need time to recover from sleep. I feel terrible, waking up in the middle of a deep sleep is too much of a shock for me. I have the alarm out of reach, so when it rings, I get up and walk disoriented to my alarm and hit the snooze. Then I lay in bed to transition into waking up, then when the alarm goes off again, its time to get up and go.

This is only on days I have to go to work, when I get up early in the morning. When I sleep and wake-up naturally, without the alarm, everything is fine.

That's sorta how I do it too but in 15 minute intervals. I'm trying to cut it down to one though, I find any more than that is torture. It's hard enough getting out of bed, why do it more than once. So my first alarm is just to wake me up and I don't have to get out of bed. Then I try very hard to stay awake for the next 15 minutes, but if I do fall asleep (which 99% of the time I do) the other alarm kicks in which forces me out of bed. At that point it's too bad, I stay up. At least I try... often I set that one for 15 minutes later then go back to bed. Often it's without even knowing I did it.

Occasionally I actually DO wake up before the alarm, and to piss me off, it's always exactly 1 minute before. Usually I fall back asleep within that minute only to get woken up 30 seconds later.

Most days I don't even need a clock. I usually get up before the alarm goes off... even on the weekends.

I do, and wish I didn't. But I get up too freaking early so it's hard to get up on my own most mornings.
