Do you memorize author names on all your textbooks?

Text books, no. Authors of reading books, yes if the book is good.

The only textbook author I remember is deitel and deitel c++.

some profs refer to the book by the author's name, so in those cases, it's actually necessary.

I can usually remember them for books that I have to use a lot, especially ones that serve as a reference later.

I have a hard enough time being motivated to learn my professors / TA's names, let along the authors of the textbooks.

on a multiple choice exam i took, a question had a set of names at the answer options. i narrowed it down to two, by process of elimination. looking at one of the two names, i realized it was the author of the book, lol. needless to say i got the answer correct. i was talking to some classmates and they didn't notice the textbook author's name 😛
