Do you make your bed every morning?

  • I don't own a bed. I only need my smug self assurance to sleep comfortably

  • Of course I do. I am not an uncivilized cretin

  • No. Aint nobody got time for that

  • Do housework myself? Please. I have servants for that

It stays unmade until just before dinner. I don't want to have to mess with it just before I crawl into it at night (but I'm not doing it first thing in the morning).

I don't make the bed ever, aside from when it gets a fresh set of sheets, and that isn't 'made' in the conventional sense. The upper covers are just put on straight.

I don't really make it all neat, but I do pull the covers up over the pillows, and then I put a towel over that. I don't like cat hair on my pillow, and the cats like to lay there when we are gone.

Nope, not unless I'm expecting company.

Only the kind of company I think there is a chance to lure to my bedroom and use, not sleep in, in the bed (That ain't happened in a while). Usually for the company I get; just closing the bedroom door suffices. I do make the bed when I change linen once a week.

I only started doing so within the last few weeks. I only have a soft blanket, so it takes mere seconds to flump it out to cover the bed and then a slight straightening.

After my recent switch, I can't say I've noticed a difference.

I KNEW you were a dirty flumper. Ugh. That's nasty.

Flumping. Yuck.

I don't make it all shipshape but I do at least pull the covers up and position the pillows. Makes the entire room neater somehow.

Hey, I'm not the dude that gets off on watching flumping. So, you know, watch where you're casting that first stone in your glass house before the bull grabs you by the horns of the dilemma between a rock and a hard place, or you'll find out all your unhatched chickens are in one basket. Man.

It's made every day, usually by the wife, and usually only to the extent that the sheets are pulled back up, along with the comforter, to look nice and neat.

Biggest reason: we don't usually keep the bedroom heated. Sometimes in the winter, you can see your breath. But, we have an electric mattress pad. 1/2 hour before bedtime, each side of the mattress pad (left and right, not top/bottom - we each set our heat to different levels) is turned on to pre-warm the bed. Without the comforter and sheets being up over it, it doesn't retain the heat as well. I sleep like a rock when the air is in the upper 50's/lower 60's in the room, and my body is just warm enough to be comfortable (bed is just slightly warm to the touch).
